Traditional German Sourdough Bread
In early September we had a great time baking traditional German sourdough bread with the use of freshly ground spices coriander seeds, fennel, anis, and caraway. The kids helped us grind the spices, watched how we ground spelt and rye berries into flour and everyone got to meet an active sourdough starter.
Great times and lots of questions answered about traditional preparation of bread.
While our bread baked in the oven we watched a slideshow about nourishing foods for our children.
